Breakthrough European Dining Concept -Vapiano-
Launches In The UK

Set to revolutionize London dining, a new Italian restaurant concept, Vapiano, is making a stylish entry into London after taking Europe and North America by storm. Vapiano is a sophisticated eatery which will take your breath away without leaving your pocket empty. Quibbles over the bill will also be banished thanks to Vapiano's ground breaking chip card technology, used to order and pay for your meal.

Opened early in June 2008 at 19-21 Great Portland Street, guests can sample freshly prepared food, innovative technology and chic Italian décor with a dining experience unlike any other. The ingredients used for every Vapiano dish are subject to the highest quality and freshness standards. Pasta is made freshly on the premise each day and every dish is complemented with fresh herbs from the restaurant's extensive herb garden. The venue even boasts its own olive tree. Customers can become intimately involved in the creation of their meal as they order directly from the chef who then prepares it right in front of them at the individual cooking workstations. Traditional Italian delights such as pizza, fresh house-made pasta and hand tossed gourmet salads can be seen on the menu along with accompaniments of fresh figs, spicy Italian sausage, king prawns or gorgonzola cheese.

The Vapiano chip card, which is unique to the UK, will keep track of each person's personal total of selected dishes and drinks enjoyed over the evening. Whether you would prefer to relax and enjoy the meal without being rushed by waiters or need to pop in for a quick bite - the chip card will allow you to enjoy your meal at your own pace.

The mastermind behind the unique design is celebrated interior architect, Matteo Thun from Milan, who has been at the forefront of revolutionary artistic movements. Thun has created a venue that exudes a Mediterranean atmosphere using combined large glass fronts for plenty of natural light, cool marble walls and natural stone. Smooth light oak wood and soft earth-toned leather create the perfect fusion of sophistication and relaxation. Vapiano's philosophy centers around the Italian dining mentality; "Chi va piano, va sano e va lontano" or "Those who live their lives casually and relaxed will live healthier and longer". Not only is this an excellent outlook on life, it is also the inspiration for the restaurant's name which embodies this motto: Chi va piano - Vapiano.
