Harlequin Ends Any Arguments Over Which Restaurant to Visit With Opening of Tapas International

The Glasgow-headquartered Harlequin Restaurant Group has ended the perennial argument about which restaurant to visit with the opening recently of Tapas International on the site of the former Spice of Life restaurant at 1293 Argyle Street in Glasgow's West End.

Tapas International is an utterly unique and exciting new concept in eating out with a menu featuring a comprehensive selection of freshly prepared tapas dishes from throughout the world.

Sanjay Majhu, chief executive of Harlequin, said, "Tapas International calls an end to any argument about which restaurant to go to because everyone can sample and share from a variety of dishes from throughout the globe at the one restaurant.

"Our research has revealed that diners want more choice when eating out and tapas provides the perfect food to fulfil that demand. Whilst we've taken traditional Spanish tapas as our inspiration, we believe that tapas has evolved beyond its Spanish origins to encompass small portions of food from around the globe."

Tapas International's menu features: traditional Spanish tapas; Asian tapas (incorporating Indian, Chinese, Malaysian and Thai); Mediterranean tapas; American tapas and Scottish tapas.

Said Mr Majhu, "We're confident that Tapas International will appeal to the demanding West End market, to students and families alike. There's no other restaurant where you can go and sample freshly prepared food from around the world - from fresh dough pizza, Aloo Saag (potato and spinach and mustard leaf), Solmillo con Ajoy y Jerez (bite size sirloin steak with garlic and sherry) to smoked salmon or haggis, neeps and tatties!"

Harlequin has invested six figures in transforming the former Spice of Life into the clean and contemporary Tapas International.
