New from
acrylic specialists, MJB Consulting, is a clever device that is set
to come to the rescue of forgetful diners, who can never remember to
bring their reading glasses when they go out for a meal. MJB has
invented and patented a new acrylic menu holder called Spexsee
that actually incorporates its own pair of reading spectacles.
The new invention, which falls
into the "why didn't they think of it before" category, is
simple to use and will appeal particularly to popular and casual
dining restaurants. The reading lenses are moulded into the menu
holder, so all guests do is hold the menu holder lenses up to the eye
in order to read the menu. The lenses are 1.75 dioptre and, whilst
not of the quality of prescription readers, they are plenty good
enough to choose food with.
For a small additional oncost,
Spexsee may be overprinted with a logo or advertisement. Being
a highly visible communication device at point of sale, Spexsee
represents an ideal publicity medium for the restaurant itself or a
lucrative opportunity for the establishment to sell advertising space
on the menu holder to its suppliers or other local businesses. It
will be of particular interest to large brand holders wishing to
communicate their brand values and selling message via their
customers to end users. Used in this way, Spexsee makes an
ideal premium or business gift
Made from first grade high impact
acrylic material, it is the brainchild of Mike Bruce who has over 40
years experience in the acrylic market. Spexsee has a list
price of £4.99 per unit, with considerable discounts for
multiple orders. Says Mike: "Being of a certain age myself, I
know how frustrating it is to forget reading glasses and restaurants
never seem to have a spare pair. Spexsee solves two problems
for the caterer. It keeps the menu neat and tidy on the one hand,
whilst also providing customers with a service. In trials that we
have run so far, Spexsee has proved to be an outstanding success".
