On Sunday
14 May 2006, celebrity chef Ken Hom gathers the cream of London's
chefs and VIPs from the arts to host an evening of food, fun and
fundraising. Monies raised will be for Action Against Hunger, the
international humanitarian charity which operates in 44 countries,
saving children's lives. Last year, Ken Hom's banquet for the
charity's work in the tsunami-affected regions raised in excess of
£31,000 and this year Ken is committed to top this figure.
From the fast
moving world of restaurants, celebrity chefs such as Brian Turner,
Cyrus Todiwala, Nancy Lam and many others are coming forward to
demonstrate their support. They will be hosting the tables so diners
have the possibility of rubbing shoulders with some celebrity chefs.
Tickets for
this dinner cost £100 each and are on sale now. Call 020 7394
6300 or email Julienne Ho at Action Against Hunger on j.ho@aahuk.org.
They include a champagne reception, dinner with wines and all entertainment.
There will be
a raffle and an exclusive auction during the course of the evening,
and the entertainment has been carefully planned, including some surprises.
Ken Hom,
consultant chef to the Oriental Restaurant Group, of which Pacific
Oriental is part, has the tremendous commitment behind this event
from all involved, not least because so many members of the company
are from Southeast Asia, an area which is also his home. Action
Against Hunger has a strong presence in this part of the world.
