It's 'Curry Chef' Time Again

Eight cooks -- seven male professional chefs and a woman college lecturer -- will battle again for the prestigious title of International Indian Chef of the Year in the Training Kitchen of Edinburgh's Telford College on Friday, March 10.

A panel of judges, headed by Lord Fraser of Carmyllie QC, will scrutinise their efforts as they struggle to produce their ideal four-dish Indian meal and present it to table within the two and a half hour time limit. The judges then taste all the dishes before retiring to decide which meal was best at meeting the competition's "innovation and quality" criteria.

The title and £l,000 prize, together with the £250 Lady Fraser Prize for the best Vegetarian Dish, is presented at the annual Curry Ball in Prestonfield Hotel on Friday evening.
