The
Publican LIVE, the new name for the Pub & Bar Show, is
celebrating its 10th anniversary with the biggest and best ever event
for the licensed trade.
The Publican
offers the licensed trade a weekly source of news and information but
in April it will be going live!
The Publican
LIVE brings to life a unique combination of new ideas, expert advice,
plus the best suppliers and hottest industry trends - ultimately
offering visitors hundreds of profitable business ideas.
Over 8,000
visitors will meet with more than 200 of the industry's suppliers
showing the very latest in beer, wine, spirits, food, snacks,
equipment, furniture, outdoor ideas, entertainment and technology.
They will also take advantage of the best new thinking from across
the pub trade in the free special features, talks, demonstrations and events.
Beer
Festival
The
opportunity to sample over 32 different cask conditioned ales from
across the UK and also meet the brewers in The Publican LIVE's
biggest showcase ever. Operated in association with Cask Marque, Beer
Academy, BBPA, Beautiful Beer, Siba and Filton Brewery. Experts will
be on hand to answer individual queries about either running a beer
festival or introducing a range of cask conditioned products.
Drinks
Brands LIVE
The
opportunity for visitors to take part in the trade's largest ever
blind tasting and compare all the best and up-and-coming brands
covering beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks. Sessions will be run by
industry experts from The Wine & Spirit Education Trust, The Beer
Academy, Cask Marque and Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd. The aim is to
give visitors a better basic understanding of different product
tastes, how the brewing/fermentation process works and enable them to
speak from a more informed point of view to customers and suppliers.
Using the CashInn Game Show system feedback from the trade will give
some interesting statistics on these tastings.

The
Longest Bar in the Country
The 48 Metre
Long counter will be a key feature of The Publican LIVE and will be
making a bid to get into the Guinness Book of Records. Split into
three themes designed to give visitors ideas for their own pubs: a
sports bar, a premium bar and a bar of the future. The bar will be
serving a vast
selection of
bottled drinks and will feature back-bar displays. Mixed drinks and
cocktails will be on sales as well as beer and wine. Throughout each
day there will be a range of state-of-the-art entertainment systems
in action supplied by Buzztime, Mediatheme and INTATV.
SMOKING
SOLUTIONS (incorporating Outdoor Area)
At Publican
LIVE they have teamed up with Fresh Air, Fresh Thinking. The team
from AIR, The British Institute of Inn Keeping and local planning
officers will be running a series of free talks each day aimed at
helping you know what your responsibilities are, what opportunities
this ban presents and what in practical terms you can do to prepare NOW.
Visitors will
have an opportunity to hear in The Publican LIVE Seminar Theatre from
the experts who have been going round the country informing people in
the Fresh Air Fresh Thinking Roadshows.
What the

OUTDOOR
AREA
As well as
free seminars at The Publican LIVE you will be able to see a huge
range of the latest innovative smoking solution products, from
awnings to patio heaters and lighting to shelters plus outdoor
furniture and stubbing units.
BII
LIVE
BII will again
be exhibiting at The Publican LIVE. BII LIVE and will give visitors
the chance to find out how BII's services can help their business.
This year BII
LIVE will offer visitors an exclusive opportunity to see for
themselves the benefits of adding their venue's details to www.biipubsearch.com,
a new website which is being supported by a major marketing
campaign, as well as being promoted on Google, one of the most
popular internet search engines.
Industry
experts will also be present on the stand to provide further
information about the benefits of BII membership, and the range of
BIIAB qualifications, including the market-leading BIIAB NCPLH. They
will also advise on current issues, such as the impending smoking ban
in public places. In addition a free BII Smoking Supplement, which is
packed with hints and tips to make the most of the smoking ban, will
be available to take away.
BII are also
sponsoring The Publican LIVE Property & Recruitment Theatre which
will offer free sessions on everything from funding and property, to
training and career advice.
Cellar
Talks at The Publican LIVE Pub
This
traditional pub with a working cellar will offer live training
sessions on best practice in cellar management; as well as operating
as a real pub serving real pints with entertainment from Mediatheme
and INTATV. Sessions by Filton, BOC, Innserve and Cotech will run
throughout the day.
The
Publican LIVE Seminar Theatre
A series of
lively debates and interactive sessions covering all the issues that
matter, from new legislation to top tips from Publican Awards
winners. Topics include The Future of Entertainment by INTATV, Saving
Money & Energy by British Gas and Gambling - What you need to know.
The
3663 LIVE Food Experience
At this year
The Publican LIVE, 3663 will be presenting the Lamb Experience, Fish
Experience and Menu Planning.
Come and
witness a lamb cutting experience with Glenn Eastwood from the Barton
Meat Company. We will be showing butchery skills, a diverse range of
lamb cuts and different trim levels butchered from the UK new seasons
spring lamb. David Wood will then give top tips on cooking lamb and
will also be cooking up some exciting recipes - One not to be missed!
3663 have
recently launched an extensive range of fresh fish. Come and see the
fish being freshly prepared by the 3663 fish filliters Then Watch
Shaun Hill Executive Chef of 3663, create some exciting recipes with
the product.
David Wood,
Client Development Manager will share his knowledge and experience on
menu planning and cooking up a few simple recipes. David will also be
using information that is available from the 3663 customer advice
centre which includes, Menu Planning, What is Marketing?, Food cost
and much much more.
