With the
popularity of Irish whiskey on the rise, one brand in particular is
benefiting from renewed interest in the sector - Tullamore Dew Irish
Whiskey from C&C International, distributed by Maxxium UK.
Tullamore Dew
is now officially the world's second biggest selling Irish whiskey,
selling over 500,000 cases per annum in around 80 countries - a major
achievement in a highly competitive marketplace. Demand looks set to
continue with shipments currently rising by 20% year on year.
Tullamore Dew
itself is growing at 22% year on year, outstripping the 6% expansion
of Irish whiskey as a whole. In some key markets such as Bulgaria and
Latvia, Tullamore Dew is now the top selling whisky, outselling
scotch by a significant margin.
Maxxium UK's
brand manager for Tullamore Dew, Eve Gorrara commented: "More
and more consumers are including Irish whiskey in their drinks
repertoire, and responding to Tullamore Dew's accessible, subtle
taste and premium quality.
"With a
proactive marketing and PR campaign behind it, the brand has
substantially grown its share of the market in recent months, and
consumers - both men and women - find it the perfect choice when
relaxing with friends in a busy bar or quietly at home."
As a result of
its achievements, Tullamore Dew has been acclaimed by industry
experts around the world.
The most
recent honour comes in the form of a nomination as 'the one to watch
for 2007' in a survey published by the prestigious industry magazine
Drinks International. This annual feature of products considered to
be the year's rising stars, is an important accolade for Tullamore Dew.
Similarly,
whiskey connoisseurs and experts at international tasting
competitions have recognised Tullamore Dew's premium quality and
taste. An unprecedented four gold medals were awarded to the brand at
different wine and spirit competitions in 2006, including London's
International Spirit Challenge and The World Spirits Competition in
San Francisco.
C&C
International have every intention of ensuring that Tullamore Dew
maintains its position as number two in Irish whiskey and continues
its worldwide growth. On current performance, there is every reason
to believe that the brand is only just getting into its stride.
