Northern
restaurant-goers are looking for healthy menu options and
restaurateurs are taking this into account when menu planning
according to a recent survey.
The survey, conducted by Northern
Restaurant & Bar, the only Northern exhibition for the
hospitality trade, which is at Manchester Central (G-Mex) on 7th and
8th April, revealed a massive 83% of respondents said yes customers
were looking for more healthy options on their menus and nutrition
does play a big part in deciding which dishes they chose.
With healthy eating being such a
hot topic, Northern Restaurant & Bar's seminar entitled 'How
healthy is your menu?'' is set to be a popular event. Fiona McDonald
Joyce, Senior Nutrition Consultant to strategic catering consultants
The Russell Partnership and to the educational charity Food for the
Brain, will be presenting this informative seminar which will help
protect a restaurant's income, and make sure a menu is offered which
appeals to the growing number of health conscious consumers. The
seminar will also explain what constitutes a healthy choice, and how
to improve the nutritional quality of menus by discovering which
foods and drinks have a positive effect on health and wellbeing and
conversely, those which don't.
This seminar is part of Northern
Restaurant & Bar's Networking Forum which runs over the two days
and provides a range of business led sessions ranging from regional
association meetings to hot topics for the northern hospitality
industry. Other topics include a legislation update; how to market a
restaurant or bar in the on-line arena; social and corporate
responsibility; a modern approach to overcoming staffing issues in
the hospitality industry; and how to build a loyal, local customer
base.
All these talks are given by
experts in the hospitality industry and are free of charge. Visitors
to the exhibition do not have to pre-book the Networking Forum - just
turn up on the day.
Northern Restaurant & Bar
offers business ideas and inspiration, industry networking and 250
top suppliers all under one roof. It attracts over 7000 key decision
