Two
Bradford restaurant businesses are expanding to a £260 million
Yorkshire development.
Mumtaz will open its first
restaurant outside Bradford at the Clarence Dock development in
Leeds, where Shipley-based Aagrah group will also have an outlet.
Mumtaz founder Mumtaz Khan has
previously said he planned to keep the original Mumtaz restaurant in
Great Horton Road, Bradford, and grow other parts of the business
which include halal baby food and ready meals.
The new restaurant will also
include a food emporium stocking ingredients needed for Asian
cuisine. It is expected to open in July.
Mumtaz commercial director Bill
Kimberling said: "This is very exciting for us. We have only
ever had the world famous Mumtaz restaurant in Bradford.
"This will mean opening
up another - the most wonderful restaurant the people of Leeds have
ever seen."
Aagrah will open a café
concept restaurant featuring what the company has described as a
"central kitchen theatre".
