TSC Foods Announces Glorious! Acquisition

 

 

TSC Foods, leading developer and manufacturer of soups and sauces to the foodservice and retail sector, today announces that it has become the exclusive owner of the Marco Pierre White endorsed brand, Glorious!

The acquisition marks the biggest deal in TSC Foods' history.

Glorious! was originally developed in collaboration with Conival plc, but now TSC Foods has full brand ownership to deliver its range of soups and sauces with a key focus on being the best in class while offering excellent value for money.

TSC Foods is already established and recognised for its capabilities and unique manufacturing processes and has taken the Glorious! brand to a multi-award-winning level. The brand's 'Chicken, Courgette and Orzo Pasta Broth', scooped the prestigious Quality Food Award for Best Soup October 2008 as well as being first runner up Gold Q award and 'Highly Recommended' by the judging panel. The product went on to win 'Best Soup' at the Grocer Brand Excellence awards in February 2009.

The company is keen to establish its production of independent products alongside its successful portfolio of quality food solutions sold under the retailer's own brands. "Glorious! is a major investment in the future of TSC Foods" says, Commercial Director, Mandy Taylor.

"This is a very exciting time for us. We are working with one of the greatest chefs in the World and we have one of the best internal development teams in the industry. Glorious! is already proving a great success with consumers and select major retailers and we aim to make this available on every high street."

The Glorious! range has been created to give the look and feel of homemade soup using fresh 'chunky' ingredients with exciting flavours to add a new depth and dimension to British soups. Ultimately, Glorious! offers high standards with affordability.

Mandy adds: "We have carefully developed our soups to bring something new to the chilled soup category. We offer a genuine USP by delivering innovative, chunky products & great new flavour profiles that we hope will encourage more customers to buy chilled soup. Our products are already starting to have a noticeable impact - 69% of purchasers are new users of Chilled soup (TNS Worldpanel)."

The Glorious! ownership will create more jobs at TSC Foods, including a new Head of Brand Development that is expected to be filled by one of the industry's most respected and highly regarded people.
