Gourmet Range To Spice Up Butchers' Choice Cuts

Leading food industry supplier Manchester Rusk Company Ltd (MRC) has announced it is launching a new range of delicious marinades in March targeted at the butchery sector.

MRC, which also supplies an extensive range of sauces, mixes, coatings, seasonings and glazes, is introducing its superb selection of Gourmet Marinades in response to feedback from butchers that consumers are demanding more nutritious, restaurant style experiences for meals cooked in the comfort of their own homes.

Available in three fantastic flavours - Mediterranean Tomato & Caper, Cantonese Style and Sweet Chilli - and developed specially for the butcher. The company's newest range of marinades are great tasting and completely free of artificial colours, artificial flavours and hydrogenated fats.

Simply mix a 1kg pouch of Gourmet Marinade with the same weight of chilled meat and place on the counter for an eye-catching display of ready-to-cook fare. The Gourmet range combines convenience and healthy ingredients with incredibly quick cooking times for the consumer - just five minutes stir fried and 20 minutes to oven bake a 250g portion.

This thrilling new selection of delicious marinades, which are also suitable for BBQs, were met with enthusiastic approval when taste tested at a butcher's workshop held recently by MRC. Steve Connor of Woods Butchers, said: "The MRC Gourmet Marinades proved very easy to handle and extremely popular."

Distributor to the meat trade Dalziel was equally impressed with the restaurant quality of MRC's new range. Representative Mike Winrow, commented: "These new MRC Gourmet Marinades are amazing! You just can't go wrong."

MRC's national account controller for the new range, Stewart Niven, said: "We consulted with a range of consumers and butchers as part of the development process and the feedback was clear. They wanted quality ingredients that make great tasting dishes - and that is exactly what we are offering.

"Our new marinades will be the first products to bear the MRC Butcher's Promise stamp - a best in class mark of excellence - as well as our FREE FROM logo to prove we add nothing except our experience and commitment to quality and value. We are confident that butchers will be delighted with this new range, particularly in terms of functionality, ease of use, taste and price."

The Gourmet Marinades range will be launched March 16 2009 to coincide with National Butchers' Week. Available initially through the Dalziel Group, the Gourmet Marinades are available in single flavour packs containing 6 x 1kg pouches or in variety packs containing 2 pouches of each flavour, butcher's tickets and 'how to use' flyers.
