Steve Porter, chief executive of PRS for Music, commented: "There is a real opportunity here for restaurants to attract and keep new customers. Many eateries are experiencing a serious downturn in business because of the recession, so the owners are looking at every possible way to keep sales up. By taking extra care in selecting the right music for their restaurant, restaurateurs could really win customers over through creating an attractive ambience and the 'perfect dining experience'."
