We might
be in the midst of our coldest winter for 20 years, but Curry King
Charan Gill MBE is forecasting that on Thursday 7th May, Edinburgh
will experience the Hottest Night of the Year for the very first time.
That's because, having raised an
incredible £1 million over the last decade for a diverse range
of worthy causes, this year the glittering annual fundraiser that is
The Hottest Night of the Year is set to rise in the east for the very
first time.
Famous for attracting celebrities
from stage, screen, sport, politics and business, Edinburgh's first
ever Hottest Night of the Year - Full of Eastern Promise - will take
place in the Assembly Rooms on George Street.
Mr Gill said, "The idea
behind the very first Hottest Night was to bring together all the
real movers and shakers of Scotland to raise fantastic amounts of
money for a variety of worthy causes. And each year, without fail, we
have shown that there is no limit to the generosity of the Scottish people.
"The splendid backdrop of
the Assembly Rooms has inspired us to reflect on the grandeur of
colonial India and we will be bringing together the colour, taste and
sounds of the subcontinent in May."
Mr Gill is bringing the Hottest
Night to Edinburgh in association with Scottish Love in Action, a
Scottish-based charity that cares for and supports destitute children
in India.
He said, "There will be
fine dining of traditional Indian fare, comedy and musical
entertainment and I will be there to host the evening. All of these
elements will combine together to make this a night you will never
forget. Full of Eastern Promise - the Hottest Night of the Year is
one not to be missed!
"The evening is being
held to raise funds for Scottish Love In Action and we will have some
superb raffle and auction prizes on offer throughout the evening.
Every penny that is raised on the night will make a difference to the
lives of thousands of children in India and I can't do it without
your help."
