Tilda
is delighted to announce that is has won The Grocer's Rice, Noodles
and Pasta Award, at the
recent
Branded Excellence Awards with its Tilda Pure Basmati 1kg bag.
Tilda
was selected over the competition because of its eye-catching,
premium packaging and signature perfect, fluffy rice, both of which
were major hits with the judges.
Tilda
is the number one dry rice brand in the UK, worth over £28m at
RSP and is also the biggest Basmati brand globally. A family-owned
business, Tilda operates in 50 countries and is India's biggest
Basmati exporter. Tilda is the only rice in the world to use DNA
testing, guaranteeing that every grain of Basmati in its packs is
100% pure, delivering wonderful cooking characteristics, a
tantalizing aroma and delicate taste. The brand is available in two
versions: the original loose Basmati and also Tilda Steamed Basmati,
which won the Grocer branded Excellence Awards in 2008. Tilda has
recently revealed its new packaging, which illustrates Tilda
Basmati's paddy-to-plate story, while unifying the dry product with
the Ready-To-Heat variants.
Jonathan
Calland, Head of External Affairs at Tilda, commented: "It
is an honour to win an award from one of the foremost trade
publications in the UK for a second year running. We are delighted
that consumers voted for our product to be the best of its category
since we go through a meticulous process from sourcing and purity
testing to removing broken grains. Only the purest, complete Basmati
grains go into packs of Tilda Pure, ensuring that consumers will
always have fluffy, fragrant and individual grains of rice, every
time they cook with Tilda."
