This summer, across five UK cities, Foodies Festivals will inspire
thousands of food-lovers with a passion for fine food and drink. The
aesthetically-pleasing locations in Hampton Court, Leeds, Glasgow,
Edinburgh and Oxford will showcase a wealth of fine food and drink,
top chefs demonstrations and culinary inspiration.
Now in its fourth year, the fastest-expanding food and drink festival
in the UK will feature a Chefs Theatre with live demonstrations from
local Michelin star and celebrity chefs; food and drink masterclasses
with hands on tutored tastings by industry experts; over 150
speciality producers and local exhibitors; favourite local
restaurants and top bars as well as a Veuve Cliquot champagne tent,
Harvey Nichols tasting tent, live entertainment and children's
masterclasses.
Foodies Director Sue Hitchen commented:

2009's successful run of events saw Mat Follas celebrating his
Masterchef win with his first live demonstration, showcased rising
stars Tiffany Goodall, Shay Cooper and Jun Tanaka, celebrated book
releases with top chefs Tom Aitkens, Tom Kitchen, Galton Blackiston
and Jay Raynor and saw foodie personalities Heather Mills and Stephen
K Amos take to the stage in the chefs theatre. Foodies Festivals 2010
are set to hold an abundance of gastronomic highlights.
A series of events for 2010
Hampton Court Palace - 29, 30, 31 May 2010
Foodies flagship event returns to the aesthetically pleasing grounds
of the Royal Palace at Hampton Court for a second year. A high
profile event that will showcase some of the UK's finest chefs and
industry experts. The site has been doubled in size due to the
popularity and success of 2009's event. An estimated 25,000 foodies
will attend from London, Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire including
local towns Esher, Weybridge, Cobham, Richmond and Wimbledon.
Leeds Roundhay Park - 2, 3, 4 July 2010
Foodies, in association with Deliciously Yorkshire will celebrate the
wealth of fine food and drink that The North has to offer. Local food
celebrities together with Michelin star chefs will showcase their
talents in the Chefs Theatre. An estimated 20,000 foodies from Leeds,
Harrogate and across the North will attend.
Glasgow George Square - 30, 31, July & 1 August
The fantastic, central location of George Square puts Foodies Glasgow
in the heart of the city centre. With a focus on Michelin star and
top Scottish chefs, and locally produced Scottish fare, the event
will feature chefs demonstrations; food and drink masterclasses; a
Whisky Theatre and over 100 local food and drink suppliers and
producers.
Edinburgh Holyrood Park - 13, 14, 15 August
The original Foodies Festival celebrates it's fourth year, returning
to Holyrood Park to showcase Scottish food and drink and culinary
talents to foodies from Edinburgh and the surrounding areas as well
as international festival goers.
Oxford South Parks - 28, 29, 30 August
Showcasing local Michelin star chefs, restaurant talent and food
producers, Foodies Oxford, overlooking the cities picturesque spires
from the aesthetically pleasing location of South Parks will attract
foodies from Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire |
