The
impressive new look Spice Island pub in Rotherhithe will opened
recently following a £200K refurbishment.
Situated next
to the River Thames, the pub has been given a facelift with a new
restaurant and carvery on the 1st floor and a separate area for live
bands to perform. Situated on the ground floor, is a new bar with a
dedicated sports area.
Landlord,
Steve Bennett said: "We are really pleased with the
refurbishment and can now offer customers more than just food and
drink. The pub will have a calender of events including live bands,
wine tasting evenings and weekend barbecues."
The new menu
offers a great array of options including tapas, a carvery and an a
la cart menu in the restaurant, with light snacks offered in the bar.
Main meals range from traditional fish and chips to a more healthy
option of crayfish and crab claw salad. Drinks available include a
variety of lagers, draught ale and hand-pulls, a selection of bottled
lagers and at least 12 different types of wine on offer.
To celebrate
the opening of Spice Island, there will be a number of promotions
offered to regular customers including a free bottle of wine, carvery
meals and discounts. The promotions will be offered via voucher
booklets.
Steve will
also be kick starting a discount programme for service men and women
including staff from emergency services, schools and colleges. They
will be offered a discount on food and drink when they visit the pub.
"We
wanted to have the opportunity to give something back to the people
who spend their time helping others, and the VIP discount card seemed
like the perfect way."
"We are
also planning to organise a Spice of Life Award night where our
customers and the local community can nominate a member of the public
who contributes most to local life." Steve added.
Ideal for a
social drink by the river, a Sunday lunch, or an evening of live
music, Spice Island has it all.
Spice Island
is part of Greene King and support Steve in all areas of the business.
