Court's Arti Poddar Wins 2007 Asian Business Award
23-year-old
care home operations director of Lambhill Court Ltd. in Glasgow, Arti
Poddar, won the Young Achiever of the Year Award at Eastern Eye's
2007 Asian Business Awards held on 8 May at the Hilton, Mayfair in London.
The Asian
Business Awards ceremony is an annual celebration of British Asian
entrepreneurs and brings together the most successful in the nation
to provide an event that will inspire future generations.

BDO, Fortis, Hamptons, KPMG and PWC, and representing one of the most
important events in the Asian business calendar, the ceremony was
hosted by well known TV presenter Clair Nasir and popular actor Nitin Ganatra. |
The well
attended event welcomed prominent members of the Asian business
community to celebrate the success and significant contributions
they've made within Britain.
In addition to
the young achiever of the year award, other categories included:
business newcomer of the year, entrepreneur of the year, the
community award, the best Asian business of the year and an award for
business person of the year.
Reflecting on
her success Miss Poddar related that her passion and commitment for
quality care for the elderly had been cultivated by her parents'
inspiring vision and revolutionary model of care homes, which
promotes independence, security and living life to the fullest in
your golden years.
"This
acknowledgment is a truly remarkable achievement. In addition to
recognising my accomplishments, it also credits my parents'
determination and dedication to redefine and continually improve care
for our elderly in Scotland," said Miss Poddar.
Also actively
involved in the Patanjali Yog Peeth (UK) Trust as campaign manager
for their Scottish drive to improve the nation's health (www.divyayogascotland.org.uk),
she is a key organiser of Scotland's largest ever six-day yoga
health workshop to be held at Glasgow's SECC from 19-24 July.
Her most
recent accomplishment sees her joining the Board of Directors of
Aastha Broadcasting (UK) Ltd - part of Aastha International, a
leading socio, spiritual, faith channel that boasts 100 million
viewers daily.
