The Maghreb - To the Land where the Sun sets

Passion, dedication and knowing your market are all key ingredients contributing to a successful restaurant. Having established a loyal following with the Golden Orient. Mishbah Ahmed took the unusual step of changing the name and incorporating a completely new cuisine to dovetail with his renowned Indian cuisine.

Renaming the restaurant Maghreb (An Area of North western Africa - Arabic Translation means ' To The Land where the sun Sets') reflects the level of North African dishes, which have been included in the overall menu. Having taken on board Sami Boudal to oversee this transition and working in his own kitchen, convey the level of input that has gone into this project.

Recent additions to the North African menu includes Kibdah Mecharmila - Marinated Lamb Kidneys in a spicy sauce, Spicy Chicken Tajine and a spicy seafood platter. The Indian chef excels in his own domain with signature dishes such as Beef Randang, Kaju Chicken, Haas Bhuna and Jeera Lamb. There are plenty of traditional Indian dishes to be found on the menu, but with the wide range available there is something to suit everyone's palate

The restaurant has recently been renovated and creates an intimate yet relaxed atmosphere through the choice of colour scheme and effective overhead lighting.

This is a new combination of marrying two non-related partners, but works well and I'm sure time will tell how the people of Leytonstone take to their new dining experience.
