New Pearl Manager Is A Gem

A former butler to the Ruler and Defence Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been named Food & Beverage Manager at The Pearl Restaurant Bar & Lounge in Audenshaw.

Santo Jacob, originally from Kerala in India, has considerable experience of the hotel and restaurant industry having spent the majority of his career with Burj Al Arab - the only seven star hotel in Dubai where he served the likes of Bill Clinton, Nelson Mandela and David Beckham.

Since its launch in 2005, The Pearl has become established as one of Manchester's premier Asian restaurants. Based in Audenshaw, the restaurant serves a unique range of Asian dishes from countries including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The Pearl owner Naheem Akhtar said: "We are delighted to welcome Santo on board. He is a true professional with extensive knowledge of the restaurant trade and an exceptional understanding of Asian food and customer service. He will be a real asset to The Pearl and we look forward to introducing him to all our customers over the next few months. With the appointment of Santo we are confident that our dream to build The Pearl into the most prestigious restaurant in the North West will come true".
