Sri Lanka Comes To The Royal Garden

London's Royal Garden Hotel is going Sri Lankan from 24 May to 3 June to highlight the culinary delights created by world-renowned chef Publis Silva.

Chef Publis from the iconic Mount Lavinia Hotel is one of the most gifted Sri Lankan chefs and has travelled the world promoting Sri Lankan food. On the menu at the Royal Garden are mouth-watering shrimp and mango salad, kaliya curry, pork vinegar Thial, cashew curry, brinjal moju and curd & treacle not to forget a very tasty Arrack cocktail whipped up by the hotel specially for the occasion.

Sri Lankan meals tend to be rather different from those of the Indian sub-continent and focus around rice, dried fish and vegetable curries, often quite spicy. The curries come in many colours and flavours and are blended with Sri Lankan hot spices with an eye to Ayurvedic value.

Graham Bamford, General Manager at the Royal Garden comments, "We are known for our honest, accommodating style and flexibility. It is therefore a delight to reintroduce a cuisine that has both flair and individualism, qualities I truly endorse. Whether the view of the Indian Ocean can rival our view of Kensington Palace is debatable, but I look forward to a summer menu that excites and satisfies."
