Asad
Khan was born in Leicester and came to Surrey at the age of twelve.
After working at Vodafone PLC by day and the Multi Award Winning
Cinnamon Club at night for three years, in August 2003 he set up his
own restaurant in Warlingham.
Just five years later, not only
has he built up a very solid and popular business in Warlingham but
has now opened a second branch at Hinchley Wood near Esher and will
open a third branch in Epsom later this year.
The group has now been joined by
Executive Chef Naresh Chand from the 5 star Cecil Hotel in Shimla
part of the Oberoi Group. It is his dishes that are showcased in the
new Hinchley Wood menu to bring fine Indian dining to the area.
Starters include Chilly fried
Squid tossed in hot, sweet and sour spices (£6.95) ; South
Indian stir fry lamb on mini naan bread (£6.95) and Tandoori
chops of Red Deer with crushed fennel and cumin seed (£11.95).
Special platters are available from the tandoor from £15.95 and
main courses include Tandoori style Lamb Rack with sweetcorn sauce
and massala mash potato (£16.95) ; Pan Seared Duck breast with a
dill sauce, served with massala mashed potato (£13.95) and Fresh
grilled Wils Prawns with a stir fry of seasonal vegetables and
massala mash potato (£26.95).
Parking close to the new branch
may be a problem but there should be plenty of parking opportunities
nearby. If opening two restaurants in a year is not enough Asad Khan
expects to launch the Indian Dining Cookbook later in the year. |
