High Praise For Oriental Food Specialist

Oriental food and drink specialist Asiana Ltd has been named as one of the fastest growing businesses in the East Midlands.

The national importer, distributor and retailer of Chinese produce made it to the final of the first annual HighGrowth East Midlands Awards and received praise from the judges for the company's increasing profits and enhanced competitiveness.

The awards, run by the East Midlands Development Agency (emda) are designed to recognise the achievements of those businesses taking part in the HighGrowth scheme, a program offering advice for long term success in the current economic climate.

"It's a great honour for us," commented Asiana's UK manager Sandy Lathia. "The whole team has worked tirelessly to make sure the business continues to go from strength-to-strength.

"Despite some challenging trading conditions, we are continuing to win new accounts and sales on the retail side of the company are increasing. It's important to seek new opportunities as the credit crunch continues, and we are preparing to launch our new healthy oriental range as consumers continue to experiment with home-cooking rather than eating out."

As well as the new health food range under the O'Sensei brand, the HighGrowth scheme has also helped Asiana to produce an innovative new bottle for its Beijing Gold Premium Beer, which will be officially unveiled this summer.
