Bombay
Sapphire, the iconic gin, will launch Bombay Sapphire Dusk on 21 May
at Somerset House setting the stage for a summer filled with cultural discovery.
The
Bombay Sapphire Dusk experience will include an innovative bar
design commission by Design Research Studio, under the creative
direction of internationally renowned designer Tom Dixon and a series
of cultural evening events at Somerset House.
Dusk
is that special moment in the day that brings together a balance of
opposites: the unique meeting point between night and day, light with
dark and the perfect time at 6pm to start the evening.
It
is an occasion long celebrated by artists as 'L'heure bleue' or the
'Blue Hour', a time when the sky glows an ambient blue, beautifully
mirroring Bombay Sapphire's iconic translucent blue bottle. A natural
synergy exists between Dusk and Bombay Sapphire, making it possible
for the brand to bring this moment alive.
Bombay
Sapphire Dusk bar at Somerset House will feature a design commission
on the River Terrace.
The
exact details of Tom's creation are being kept firmly under wraps,
heightening the mood of mystery and making a visit to Bombay Sapphire
Dusk, a true discovery.
At
6pm, the Bombay Sapphire Dusk bar will be illuminated in the iconic
translucent Bombay Sapphire blue to mark the beginning of the 'Blue
Hour'. A bespoke cocktail menu, serving delicious Bombay Sapphire
Dusk Cocktails that have been created by mixologists and bartenders
from some of London's most fashionable bars. Each cocktail will be
inspired by dusk in the countries from which Bombay Sapphire's ten
botanicals are sourced, making dusk the optimum time of day to enjoy
the refined and delicately balanced taste of Bombay Sapphire.
In
association with Somerset House, Bombay Sapphire Dusk will also
offer a series of prestigious cultural events that will inspire
visitors to discover more at dusk.
