Since its opening in
2002, restaurateur Sat Lally has elevated contemporary Indian
restaurant ERIKI to unsurpassed heights, to establish it as a
restaurant that ingeniously entices diners with a taste for the
decadent within its chic surroundings.
Ideally situated in
Swiss Cottage, ERIKI is within walking distance from the heart of
London and close to the fashionable tree lined suburbs of Hampstead
and St Johns Wood. Poignantly described as 'one of London's unsung
champions' in Time Out's 2007 Food Guide, ERIKI is the epitome of
fine dining and one of India's best kept dining secrets that Sat
proudly shares with his London wide diners.
|
From ERIKI's refined,
authentic and fusion cuisine, which makes use of the freshest
ingredients and finest spice combinations, to the warm and courteous
hospitality of ERIKI staff supervised and directed by Sat himself,
coupled with the elegant décor of the restaurant, ERIKI exudes
opulence in every essence. Diners are transported to a world where
tastes are exquisite and palatable and that awaken an unparalleled
and innovative style of fine dining during every course of the dining experience.

In his eagerness to
establish an Indian restaurant which provided foodies with
traditional and inventive Indian delights but within a modern
presentation, Sat Lally launched ERIKI which immediately raised the
bar in the fine dining restaurant sector in London, already a crowded
market place. "ERIKI existed as a dream in my mind for many
years. I remember thinking that the Indian restaurant market was huge
and "curry lovers" were demanding high quality,
authentically cooked Indian food with a modern presentation."
Menus at ERIKI reflect
an eclectic selection of cuisines which remains faithful to the
fusion concept. The flavours are regionally picked to display a
gastronomical tour of India and draw on the country's culinary
regional specialities. Disheartened with the same old offerings from
Indian restaurants, Sat made a conscious effort to ensure only to
source and use the finest ingredients from reputable and honest
suppliers. He has ensured to create a menu that whets the appetites
of all palates, presenting diners with a choice of both vegetarian
and non-vegetarian options that are equally appetising.
"The menu at ERIKI
offers a tour of India, with dishes starting from the northern
regions of Hydrabad, Punjab, midway through Delhi and Bombay
(Mumbai), moving south to the coastline of Goa. ERIKI in essence is a
gastronomical tour of India" comments Sat.
Meat options at ERIKI
include Calamari Mirch Fry - ocean calamari rings stir-fried with
onions and pure kerala spices served on a leafy salad - and Murgh
Xacuti - rich chicken curry from Goa with individually roasted ground
spices. Vegetarian options are equally appetising and include Shahi
Paneer Makhani - cubes of home made cheese simmered in a buttery
tomato sauce with kasturi mehti - and Khumb Palak - fresh baby
spinach and button mushrooms sautéed with medium spices.
ERIKI's signature dish is King Prawn Amot Tik, ocean king prawn
shelled and simmered in a medium tomato sauce with kokum and tamarind.
As food aficionados
enter ERIKI, they are immediately enthralled by the distinct and
vibrant décor of the restaurant, which amalgamates a touch of
traditional Indian with contemporary western finishes. The unique
ambience and spacious dining area makes an enduring impression and
presents ERIKI as the ideal venue for social, private and corporate
functions. Special cutlery imported from Rhajastan is available for
diners to purchase, who are keen to carry on their tour of India at home.
