"Everyone Should Have A Bio"

"Everyone in the industry should have an online biography" commented Peter & Colleen Grove, organisers of National Curry Week and Curry Capital of Britain, after years of continually trying to find information about top owners, chefs and entrepreneurs for news articles over a period of years.

"We suddenly realised that information on all the amazing people who done so much to build up the Asian restaurant industry is slowly disappearing and is not recorded anywhere," said Peter. As a result of this realisation they are using the celebration of 200 years of the "Indian" restaurant in Britain in 2009 as a target to produce a huge database of the top people in the industry for the media and members of the public to refer to and enjoy.

Restaurant owners, chefs and front of house managers and entrepreneurs all over Britain are now being invited to request forms to complete for their free entry into The Restaurant Hall of Fame which aims to record biographies of of the important people past and present starting with Sake Dean Mohamet in 1809 - the first man of curry.

The first fifty biographies are already online at www.resthof.co.uk and are being added to and amended daily. "It would be terrible if the sacrifices and efforts of so many people were to disappear so we hope that people in the industry will not only supply their details but also information of those who have been in the industry but are no longer with us", Peter explained.

Restaurant Hall of Fame is the first dedicated "Who's Who" for the restaurant industry and will not only be a mark of the personal achievements of those in Britain's more than 9000 Asian restaurants but also those who supply and service the industry. An abbreviated version containing a brief entry for each biography will be published in book form at the end of 2008 with readers having to refer to the website for the full biography and photographs.

Information forms can be obtained from 020 8399 4831 or email : groveint@aol.com and details can be checked online at www.resthof.co.uk.
