La Parmigiana Wins Prestigious PAPA Italian Restaurant Gold Award

Located on Glasgow's Great Western Road, La Parmigiana is one of only seven Italian restaurants and three pizza restaurants across the UK to have won Gold Awards by the Pizza Pasta & Italian Food Association (PAPA) in recognition of their exceptional standards.

With the aim of identifying the best in genuine Italian restaurants in the UK, these national awards were presented to specialist restaurants where the food served is rooted at the heart of Italian cuisine and which offers a genuine taste of Italy.

La Parmigiana Head Chef and Owner, Sandro Giovanazzi said, "I am delighted to have won such a coveted award which stands as testimony to the authenticity and quality of our cuisine and our exclusively-Italian wine cellar."

Mr Giovanazzi prides himself on using only the best fresh local produce combined with Italian ingredients and culinary technique to produce a range of delicious dishes prepared by executive chef Peppino Camilli, (pictured above).

Established in 1978 by Sandro's father, Angelo Giovanazzi, throughout the years La Parmigiana has progressed to become the only Italian restaurant in Scotland to be included in the AA Restaurant Guide, The Michelin Restaurant Guide and the Good Food Guide and has built a reputation as being elegant, yet affordable. La Parmigiana is the oldest Italian restaurant in Glasgow still in the hands of its original owners.

The results of the 2007 annual awards were announced at a ceremony held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London recently.
