The
Vincent Hotel in Southport has launched the first hotel sushi bar in
the north of England in typical Japanese-style.
Surprised
guests were greeted with sexy Geisha girls and offered the chance to
eat off a naked model adorned with sushi as they arrived at the
glamourous hotel.
The
new sushi bar is the latest edition to the 60-room Lord Street
designer hotel which opened its doors earlier this year, based in the
popular V-Cafe it will offer a takeaway service as well as catering
for conferences, weddings and other events at the hotel.
The
idea came about in response to an increasing demand from the hotel's
international guests.
Bernhard
Stacher, general manager, said: "We get a lot of guests from
the Far East staying at the hotel and were increasingly being asked
if we served any sushi dishes.
"There
was nowhere in Southport offering authentic, high quality sushi so
we decided to do something about it.
"We
have appointed a top sushi chef who will demonstrate his highly
skilled art in front of diners. In Japan, watching sushi being made
can almost be akin to theatre and we want to recreate a little bit of
that Far Eastern magic for our guests."
Guests
at the lavish event included British martial artist and actor Terry
O'Neil, football pundit Mark Lawrenson, X-factor contestant Louise
Heatley and model Lucy Hansen.
