World Food
Market 2006 opens its doors at ExCel from 29th-30th November, with
over 200 companies exhibiting a range of new and authentic tastes and
flavours from around the world.
The ethnic and
speciality food market has grown a staggering 44% in the last six
years with Indian and Chinese foods accounting for the largest
sectors, and Mexican, Oriental, American and African/Middle East
accounting for much of the rest of the market.
Covering the
entire scope of ethnic and speciality foods, from Oriental and
Mexican to Italian and French, World Food Market 2006 is the only
trade show which brings together specialist manufacturers and
suppliers from across the globe, all under one roof.
Show director
Katharine Mann comments: "Completely focused exclusively on
authentic international food, there is simply no other event where
visitors can see, taste and smell so many unique products in one
place. From the independent Indian restaurateur looking to source
rare and authentic ingredients developed by small artisan producers
in the most remote parts of the world, to the multiple retailers
looking for ready to use products that replicate these tastes and
flavours, World Food Market addresses the crucial issue of sourcing
that the phenomenal rise in demand for world cuisine brings."
Testament to
this is Rashid Javid, stockbroker, KRK Cash and Carry, who visited
last year and commented: "New suppliers and new products which
means new business for us. Fantastic show - it saved me lots of time!"
Following on
from the huge success at the show's debut last year, World Food
Market 2006 will see the return of the Halal and Kosher Exhibitions.
Katharine continues: "It's no longer just independent
restaurants serving Halal and Kosher products, the mainstream outlets
are recognising these important markets and are now serving more
Halal and Kosher dishes. But it doesn't stop there, schools,
colleges, hospitals and prisons, for example, must now cater for a
broad range of community dietary requirements."
