Flava is proud to announce the launch of new, larger sized packs of
Jamaican style patties, bigger and better than ever for all to
"sava." The Caribbean answer to the Cornish pasty - with a
little extra oomph - the Jamaican patties can now be bought in packs
of six. Don't forget the traditional cocktail pack of ten smaller,
party sized patties as well.
Homemade and
closely following the traditional recipe, Caribbean Flava's current
range of Jamaican style patties comes in three tasty flavours -
chicken, beef or vegetarian. Surrounding each patty is a thin layer
of shortcrust pastry and each filling has sweet potato and spring
onion. Caribbean Flava adds marinades and mixes to complement each
filling - all freshly made from scratch and not mass-produced. Sold
frozen, the Jamaican style patties cook in just 15 minutes in the
oven - providing a quick route to a tasty treat.
"The
large patties are often eaten as a hand held snack on the move and a
couple make an excellent meal as well," says Carol
Stephenson, Founder of Caribbean Flava. "Our cocktail sized
Jamaican patties are terrific when entertaining and are frequently
requested as hors d'oeuvres or buffet fillers," she adds.
One serving
suggestion for the large patties is a few slices of roasted butternut
squash with a side salad, next to a bed of potato creamed with a
butter and chopped fresh parsley mix. As starters, two cocktail
patties can be garnished with a handful of cress, sweet pepper batons
and sliced tomato. A spoonful of pepper jelly, mango chutney or any
tangy condiment ideally complements the flavours of the patties.
