Las Iguanas Makes Its Mark
On Manchester's Golden

With its delicious Latin food and drink offering, lively atmosphere and exotic interior, Las Iguanas is looking to make a great impression on Manchester's trendy Deansgate scene.

The city's social hub is a perfect location for Las Iguanas second restaurant in the city, with the Trafford Centre site well established as a favourite food destination for shoppers.

Las Iguanas will be transforming their Deansgate site into a cool Latin quarter with Brazilian graffiti and a Rio image wall as backdrops. Bamboo and timber rafts and a slatted wall with artisan objects bring Brazil closer to home and help turn the 490sqm site into something altogether more exotic.

With fresh food cooked strictly to order, the menu is inspired by regional dishes from across Latin America. Latin food as we know it today dates right back to the 16th Century and is a fusion of native Latin American Indian, Spanish, Portuguese and African influences. The signature dish, Xinxim Brasilian lime chicken, really is Pelè's favourite and is the best example of this fusion, bringing together Latin, African and Portuguese flavours to create something really special.

The restaurant is also renowned for sizzling gourmet fajitas and delicious grills while the bar specialises in cocktails made with Cachaça - a truly authentic Latin spirit that Las Iguanas produces and imports from its own sugar cane plantation outside Rio.

Commercial director Ajith Jaya Wickrema said: "We have had our eye on Deansgate for a few years now and have watched it evolve into a really exciting day and night-time destination. There's a good blend of quality brand names and intrepid independents in this area and Las Iguanas' presence can only enhance the mix."

The restaurant and bar has 240 covers including a small piazza for seasonal alfresco dining. Children get a special welcome and there's a menu for toddlers, half sized portions for bigger kids and free organic baby food for the bambinos. Parties are also well catered forwith bookings already being taken for Christmas through the restaurant at The Trafford Centre.
