This
autumn, Michelin starred restaurant Quilon will be joining millions
of people around the world in celebrating Diwali - the Hindu Festival
of Lights.
To mark this all-important
occasion, Quilon's Executive Chef, Sriram Aylur, has devised an
outstanding seven course vegetarian menu, taking such traditional
ingredients as black-eye peas (which represent longevity), coconut,
yams and mangoes and using them to conjure up some truly one of a
kind creations.
Diwali is synonymous with long,
sumptuous, elaborate feasts, the preparations for which begin several
days in advance. No expense is spared, and everybody buys the best
ingredients they can afford.
Sriram's menu reflects these
traditions, featuring such irresistible fare as Tender Coconut Broth;
Smoked Mushroom and Potato Chop and Mango Rasmalai and Kerala Banana
with Palm Jaggery.
Quilon's Diwali Menu is priced at
just £40 per person (minimum two people) and will be available
with prior reservation from Monday 20 October until Friday 31 October
2008 inclusive.
