Michelin
starred restaurant Tamarind in London's Mayfair will be celebrating
National Seafood Week from 6 tp 13 October with a delectable seafood
menu, including some exciting new dishes from its renowned executive
chef Alfred Prasad.
Alfred has
created five new dishes especially for this week-long celebration of
nature's most nutritious and low fat food, including Grilled Salmon
with Lime-leaf and Coriander - a fragrantly succulent dish that melts
in the mouth due to its unique marinade.
Alfred has
also put his inimitable take upon the preparation of New Zealand
green-lipped mussels, the world's finest, steaming them in anexotic
blend of Far Eastern herbs and spices. He has devised a
mouth-watering new kind of prawn curry recipe, based on the rich
coconut-based curries of his native Kerala, in southern India.
Alfred says:
"People don't tend to associate seafood with Indian cuisine, but
fish is one of the staple foods of southern India - its cuisine
includes an expansive array of delicious seafood dishes. With our
special new menu for National Seafood Week I hope to make people
aware of the wonderful variety of taste combinations utilised in
Indian seafood cookery and to show them how the light saltiness of
sea produce can be enlivened with a range of Asian herbs and spices."
