Café Lazeez Group have announced the complete refit and refurbishment programme for its Birmingham restaurant which is expected to take around 6 weeks to complete. In line with this, the Birmingham unit will be closed to the public for this period.

The Restaurant, located in the Mailbox, Birmingham's most fashionable destination retail venue with the likes of Harvey Nichols, Armani, Hugo Boss, Donna Karan and the Malmaison Hotel on site, has a capacity to seat 200 diners. The Restaurant has already attracted critical acclaim for its cutting edge art deco design and its innovative cooking from its inception in January 2001. It continues to retain a cult following throughout the region as one of the most creative Indian restaurants in the Midlands.

The move is the first step in the complete refurbishment of the Award winning group, which pioneered the new wave of Indian cuisine after the 1992 launch of its flagship South Kensington restaurant.

Zahid Kasim, CEO Café Lazeez Group, announced the move as part of a systematic plan to refurbish all Café Lazeez Group UK properties and facilities over a 9 month period and to launch additional units across the country. The next unit set for refurbishment is the Group's Soho restaurant and bar in Dean Street.

With two Carlton 'Best Indian Restaurant in Britain' awards amongst numerous others, the restaurant group has now decided to bring its achievements in the field of Indian cuisine back into the limelight by presenting a fresh new image, in tune with the evolution of Indian cooking and consumer trends in the UK.
