Whyte & Mackay and Maxxium UK announced recently that the distribution handover of the Whyte & Mackay blended Scotch whisky and Vladivar vodka brands will take place on 1 March 2007.

Maxxium has distributed the Whyte & Mackay and Vladivar brands in the UK market since 1999.

Maxxium UK managing director Huw Pennell said: "With the distribution contract due to expire in 2007, both parties agreed that 1st March allows a well-planned handover with minimal disruption to customers. We are proud of our work on the Whyte & Mackay brands and we wish Whyte & Mackay well in their continuing development of the brands in the future."

Whyte & Mackay Ltd has also announced plans to develop its own duty-free team following the expiry of its Global Travel Retail contract with Maxxium Worldwide on 1st October, with the brands returning to Whyte & Mackay control on 1 October 2006, with the exception of the UK duty free, which will be handed over on 1 March 2007.

Stewart Lawrie, managing director of Whyte & Mackay UK said: "We would like to thank the Maxxium team for their work on the Whyte & Mackay and Vladivar brands over the period of the contract. We have ambitious plans to build on the success of the brands across global markets, and we look forward to making further announcements in the coming weeks."
