Café
Spice Namaste has released its eagerly awaited Christmas menu, and
whilst remaining true to their 'classic Asian with a modern twist'
roots, has chosen to amuse our taste buds with a quirky take on an
age old British tradition. Bridget Jones would be complaining
bitterly, but those of us who know what to expect have a sneaking
suspicion that Christmas Turkey, Café Spice Namaste style may
be an experience not to be missed.
As a starter,
shredded turkey is combined with sliced onion, green and red chillies
and a sprinkling of mixed spices, rolled in a plain flour chapatti,
coated with date and tamarind chutney, and then slowly pan grilled.
If, however, you fancy your annual dose of the feathered one little
more substantial, as a main course, you could indulge in a
traditional tikka; cubes of turkey breast, marinaded in tandoor
masala and then chargrilled to perfection. Whilst this nod to
seasonal tradition leaps off the page, the rest of the menu is
equally inspiring, with the usual emphasis on unusual ingredients,
delicate spices, and a beautifully balanced range of dishes to suit
every taste, yet again, Café Spice Namaste has pulled off a
real Christmas cracker.
