A luxurious
taste of the Orient will arrive in Manchester later this year -
complete with giant `seating shells' where diners will be able to eat.
When the
Vermilion restaurant and Cinnabar bar complex opens in Lord North
Street, in Miles Platting, on November 1 it will also become the
first venue in Manchester to offer full valet parking service.
Building work
is expected to end later this month and this week the massive seating
shells were craned into position.
The finished
venue will comprise three bars and two private rooms as well as
dining for 200 in the main restaurant.
Owner Manzur
Iqbal has recruited the head chef from the famous Blue Elephant
restaurant, in Bangkok, to produce a wide variety of Thai cuisine
including a selection of Thai fusion tapas.
A spokesman
said: "Many people who live or work in Miles Platting have
been taken aback to see these giant seating shells being lifted by
crane into the building - but it was the only way to get them in.
"They
are going to be located on the upper floor which will be where drinks
and tapas are served and the shells themselves contain massive beds
which will allow up to 20 people to recline at any one time.
"The
menu in Vermilion and selection of bar bites in Cinnabar will
encompass classic Thai cuisine as well as some luxurious reworked
dishes which utilise the finest seafood and an enviable imported
spice list."
Dishes will
include salads such as the Yam Ta-Lay, a spicy mixed seafood salad
with fresh lime and kaffir lime leaves or soups like Tom Kha Kai, a
chicken soup with galangal and lime. |
