continues to attract restaurants that are a cut above the average.
Latest of these is Chad Rahman's
Chez Mumtaj Restaurant & Saffron Lounge Champagne Bar in London
Road. Chad is a long established chef-patron in the area due to his
successful Mumtaj but has targeted a new market with his new fine
dining venture.
Chez Mumtaj provides luxury ding
with a showcase of the contemporary flavours from India, France,
Thailand, China and Malaysia. The menu will set you drooling - Pan
seared, spice crusted Scottish king scallops and sautéed wild
mushrooms served with almond and saffron froth ; Duck Samosa (confit
of Barbary duck, duxelle of cepes and shallots lightly spiced stuffed
in filo pastry served with hoisin sauce ; Black Cod 9wild catch
Alaskan black cod in Colombo curry emulsion served with freshly
grated coconut rice and spinach) ; Lamb Shank - Kashmiri stayle ;
Devon crabmeat risotto with braised baby leeks, smoked aubergine
caviar, basil and truffle cappuccino foam.
