Visit
the BBC Good Food Show Birmingham at The NEC between 26 and 30
November for a truly tasty day out! The country's biggest food and
drink show will feature demonstrations from top celebrity chefs and a
host of quality exhibitors in all areas of food and drink. Whether it
is in the halls on more than 500 stands or at our special theatre
sessions or workshops, the show will give you the opportunity to
taste food and drink you have never tried before and give you the
confidence to buy and serve it at home afterwards.
The
Supertheatre sponsored by Sainsbury's will see top chefs including
Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, James Martin, John Torode, Gary Rhodes
and Ainsley Harriott demonstrating their expertise and inspiring
enthusiastic audiences. In the Kitchen Clinic the focus will be on
mastering those tricky culinary techniques and the Good Food Magazine
British Theatre sessions will be packed with practical advice from
all your favourite chefs including Lesley Waters, Rachel Allen and
the Hairy Bikers, as well as the Good Food magazine team. The Drinks
Tasting Theatre will give all visitors the chance to learn more about
wines, beers and spirits from the experts and be guided through what
to look for when stocking the wine cellar and drinks cabinet.
With so much
mass produced food in the shops now, Slow Food UK will be running
Taste Workshops to encourage visitors to learn more about how the
best food should taste. Bookable in advance, these sessions will be
run by producers who have passed Slow Food's strict "good, clean
and fair" criteria and whose products are exceptional in every way.
Continuing
with the theme of great tasting food, a vast array of the very best
will be available in the Producers' Village. Here visitors will be
able to sample and buy top quality food from small and select
producers that you won't find in the supermarkets. Where better to
buy that something special for your next dinner party or your
Christmas entertaining?
Drinks, the
Fine Wine, Beer and Spirits Show will feature all the seasonal
favourites along with some great ideas for throwing a drinks party
with a difference. And why not take the opportunity to get ahead with
the gift shopping too. Kitchen appliances and dining accessories will
join with gourmet gadgets and food and drink gifts to offer plenty of
ideas even for the most difficult person on the list!
If you are
looking to treat someone to a meal out at Christmas but can't decide
where to go, then The Restaurant Experience may be the answer. Here
you can experience the very best culinary delights available at some
of Birmingham's top restaurants. Presented in special taster-sized
portions, you can mix and match your gourmet treat with a starter,
main course and dessert from different restaurants - or if you have a
big appetite you could even try a dish from each of the 10
restaurants present! Restaurants presenting their finest for visitors
to enjoy will include Le Becasse, Deolali, Must, Thai Edge, Liaison
and L'ortolan.
